Ven. Tanwung was appointed the head of the International Seon Center of Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism in Mok-dong, western Seoul, the Jogye Order announced Monday.
Ven. Tanwung will preside over the management of the Seon Center, which provides meditation and other Buddhist services and lessons to the public.
Ven. Tanwung was ordained in 1992 by Ven. Jaseung, the current chief of the Jogye Order. He has previously managed several well-known temples, including Gwaneum, Hansan, Geukrak and Daedeok.
