US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that he and the North Korean leader had reached a significant agreement, and that a “very comprehensive” and impressive document was signed.

Speaking at the ceremony to sign a bilateral agreement after his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Trump said the meeting has borne results that are “better than anyone could have expected.”

At the signing, Trump said they were signing a “very important document, a pretty comprehensive document.”

Trump did not elaborate on the content of the document, saying that he would hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Singapore time.

He did, however, say the denuclearization process will start “very, very quickly.”

“A lot of goodwill went into this, a lot of work, a lot of preparation. We’re very proud of what took place today,” Trump said.

As for Kim, he said that the summit was a historic moment.

“The world is likely to see an important change,” Kim said, adding that the meeting and document mark “a new beginning,” as he went on to thank Trump for making the meeting possible.

At the ceremony, Trump also said the “whole relationship with North Korea and on the Korean Peninsula is going to be very much different situation than has been in the past.”

He added that both he and Kim “want to do something, going to do something” and that they have developed a “very special bond.”

Posing for a photograph after the ceremony, Trump said he sees Kim as “very talented” and the North Korean leader “loves his country very much.”

Trump said that he was open to inviting Kim to Washington for a possible future meeting. Ahead of the meeting, there were reports that Trump had commented that he would invite Kim to his resort in Florida, while other reports claimed that Kim had offered to host Trump in Pyongyang at a future date.
