SEOUL, South Korea, Feb. 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Hosted by Great Place To Work Institute (USA), a global trust management evaluation agency, and Great Place To Work® Korea, the 21st Best Workplaces in Korea™ in 2023 has been announced Best Workplaces in Korea ™ winners.

'Best Workplaces in Korea™ ' is a system that certifies companies that create a good organizational culture by practicing trust management with employee satisfaction and employee happiness as the top priority of corporate management.

The Best Workplaces in Korea™ evaluation is a global standard evaluation system that evaluates Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For®, Best Workplaces in Europe™, and 103 countries around the world in the same way, such as Japan and Brazil.

The Great Place To Work Institute, headquartered in the United States, has published the " Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® " every year in Fortune magazine since 1998, and its member country, Korea, has been announcing the Best Workplaces in Korea™ since 2002, and this year marks its 21st year anniversary.

The evaluation of a good workplace is divided into the first Trust Index™ diagnosis and the second Culture Audit™.

The evaluation feature is the world's only internal perspective evaluation system in which members directly evaluate the degree of trust that members have in the form of employee experience diagnosis.

The Trust Index™ diagnosis is a global standard and is classified in 103 countries and 92 languages.

The detailed evaluation content consists of five categories such as Trust, Respect, Fairness, Pride, and Camaraderie, and 15 elements such as Communication, Business promotion, Ethical management, Fairness, Pride, and Sense of Community, and 62 evaluation items.

Looking at the evaluation results of this year's Trust Index™, companies announced as the Best Workplaces in Korea™ scored significantly higher in most evaluation items than general companies.

The Culture Audit™ consists of six evaluation items and evaluates workplace trust, employees' highest potential, core values, employee engagement, efficiency, leadership behavior, and innovation performance.

The evaluation score reflects 75% of the first Trust Index™ and 25% of the second Culture Audit™.

The honored companies nominated as winner on the Best Workplaces in Korea™ in 2023 are GS Retail, Mannatech Korea, Trek Bicycle Korea, Mundipharma Korea, Salesforce Korea, Microworks Korea, Under Armour Korea Ltd, Cisco Korea, Beam Suntory Korea, Cadence, Atomy Co. Ltd, ANSYS Korea LLC, DHL Korea, Daejeon Credit Guarantee Foundation, SAP Labs Korea, HP Korea Inc., Geodis Korea Co., Ltd, Quad Miners Co., Ltd, Maersk Korea Ltd., Herbalife Nutrition Korea, Stryker Korea, Lenovo Korea, Rothmans Far East B.V., Merz Esthetics, Gowoonsesang Cosmetics Co., Ltd, Korea Institute of Human Resources Development, LG Energy Solution, Borg Warner Chungju LLC, Medtronic Korea Ltd, The Kraft Heinz Company Korea, Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, Envision Co., Ltd, 3Alogics Inc., Chemours Korea Inc., Wisewires Inc., Daesang, Takeda Pharmaceuticals Korea Co., Ltd, Charmacist, TDCX Korea, British American Tobacco Manufacturing Limited,  61 companies including DHL Supply Chain, SK Biopharmaceuticals, SK Networks Co. Ltd, Haesung DS, AROM Information Technology Inc., CoorsTek Korea, Alcon Inc., Agilent Technologies Korea, Campari, id quantique, Majorel, JustCo and atos were nominated as Certified Workplaces in Korea™ in 2023.

Looking at the evaluation scores of the best companies to work for by region of the world, the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® has a Trust Index™ score of 87, followed by the European Union (EU) of 89, Latin America of 90, and Japan of 80. On the other hand, Korea's Best Workplaces Trust Index is 77, which is much lower.

This is because South Korea has a significantly lower fairness and camaraderie index compared to other evaluation categories. The low score might be a sign that members have high expectations of fair opportunities and fair compensation for their superiors and management and lack a sense of closeness and community towards their colleagues.

Professor Dongyeol Yoon (President of Korean Business Association, Professor of Business Administration at Konkuk University) Great Place To Work® Korea and Chairman of the Great Place To Work® Korea Evaluation Committee said, "The top 100 best workplaces in countries around the world, including Korea, Fortune US and Europe, are performing well in various management indicators such as turnover rate, productivity and profitability, and customer satisfaction compared to general companies."

"Satisfied and happy employees at work want to stay longer at their jobs and are expected to contribute more to improving the quality of life of customers and people by creating excellent products and services based on their advanced skills and know-hows.

An official of the Great Place To Work® Evaluation Committee explained, "Every year, the Trust Index™ can be objectively evaluated and managed by the living voice of the members from the perspective of the members, and furthermore, comparative analysis and benchmarking by 103 countries and industries around the world can be performed, and demographic analysis such as gender, age and position can be used to create a great workplace."
